Robelto Hector is dedicated to serving his clients in the pursuit of justice. He focuses his practice on Corporate Law, Civil litigation, Real Estate Development and Criminal defence. He is a graduate of The Hugh Wooding Law School and was called to the St. Kitts-Nevis Bar in 2004. Hector completed degrees in Science and Law from the University of The West Indies Cave Hill and St. Augustine Campuses respectively.
Apart from maintaining an active practice he is the current leader of the Nevis Reformation Party (NRP) and a former parliamentarian in the Nevis Island Assembly. He was first elected in 2006. In that same year he was appointed Minister of Communications, Works and Public Utilities, Posts, Physical Planning, Natural Resource and Environment, Agriculture, Lands, Housing, Co-operatives and Fisheries. This portfolio he held until January 2013. 2014 to 2015 he served as advisor to the Federal Minister of Labour.
His community involvement includes:
- Teacher at the Tertiary, Secondary and Primary school level;
- Treasurer of the Nevis Branch of the St. Kitts-Nevis Red Cross Society;
- Financial Comptroller of the Nevis Culturama Committee ;
- Soccer coach at the Manor School St, Croix, USVI
- President of the University of the West Indies St. Augustine Campus Debating Society
- Participated in the Inter-Collegiate Debating Competition, Nassau Bahamas , The University of The Virgin Islands and World Debate, Princeton University , New Jersey
- Past President of the Nevis Association of Agricultural Workers in Extension (NAAWE)
- Founding member of S.P.A.C.E. ( St. Paul’s Area Competitive Eagles)
- Formalizing Drag Racing as a sport in Nevis.
